Your privacy is important to me. This Privacy Policy explains how AutoTranslate ("I", "my", or "the App") handles your information. The short version: AutoTranslate does not collect personal data, track you, or send your app strings to Crafter Apps servers.
Privacy-First Design
AutoTranslate is designed as a focused macOS developer utility. Source strings, generated translations, and exported JSON files stay under your control on your Mac unless you choose to export or share them.
No Tracking or Advertising
AutoTranslate does not contain any advertising or tracking SDKs. I do not track you across apps or websites, and I do not share any data with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.
Information Stored on Your Device
AutoTranslate may handle the following information locally on your Mac:
Localization Project Data
- Source Strings: Text you paste into the app
- Generated Translations: Draft localized strings created by the app
- Exported Files: Xcode String Catalog JSON files saved where you choose
App Preferences
- Local Options: App state and preferences needed for the local workflow
- Purchase State: Lifetime Access is checked through Apple's StoreKit systems
Translation Processing
AutoTranslate uses Apple's Translation framework. Translation requests through this framework are processed on your device, and AutoTranslate does not send source strings or translated content to a Crafter Apps server or a non-Apple translation service.
Apple may collect Translation framework API usage and performance information, including the app's bundle identifier and the source and target languages. Apple states that this service information does not include the source or translated content. Language availability may vary by language and system state.
Information I Do NOT Collect
AutoTranslate does not collect, transmit, or store:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Health or fitness data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Your app strings on Crafter Apps servers
Notifications
AutoTranslate does not need notification access for its core localization workflow.
Data Storage
AutoTranslate works with local app data on your Mac. This data:
- Is not uploaded to Crafter Apps servers
- Is not synced by AutoTranslate to any Crafter Apps cloud service
- Is saved only when you choose an export location
- Can be deleted by deleting the files you saved and uninstalling the app
No Third-Party Services
AutoTranslate does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or translation services. There is no:
- Firebase or other analytics platforms
- Crash reporting services
- Advertising networks
- Social media integrations
- Cloud storage, sync, or non-Apple translation service
Data Sharing
I do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), I confirm: I do not sell your personal information.
Since AutoTranslate does not collect personal data, there is no personal data to sell or share.
Your Rights and Data Control
You have complete control over your data:
- View Your Data: Your source strings and generated translations are visible in the app during use or in exported files
- Delete Exports: Remove exported files you no longer need
- Delete App Data: Uninstalling the app removes app-managed local data
Children's Privacy
AutoTranslate does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Apple App Store
AutoTranslate is distributed through the Apple App Store and complies with Apple's App Store Guidelines. For information about how Apple handles your data, please see Apple's Privacy Policy.
