Keep the thought before it fades.

NightNotes is an early voice-capture app: tap once and speak. It stops when you stop, and the thought is kept as text you can read back. It has no App Store listing and no release date.

Original concept art, not an app screen.

A thought, held locally.

  1. Tap One tap starts listening. Nothing has to be named, tagged or filed first.
  2. Speak There is no second tap to remember. The capture ends by itself about a second and a half after you stop talking, or at one minute, so a thought stays a thought.
  3. Return The words are transcribed on the device and saved as text with the time you said them. You can correct the text or add a tag afterwards.

That is how the early version works. Transcription is on the device only: it does not fall back to a server, and if it fails the recording is kept so the thought is not lost. Recordings and transcripts are not sent to Crafter Apps, and there is no in-app feedback service. Transcription can contain mistakes, so review captured text before you rely on it.

When it stops.

After the last word
A spoken thought 2.7 seconds long: the capture ended 1.4 seconds after the last word.
At a long pause
A one-second pause in the middle of a thought was carried. A two-second pause ended the capture, and the rest was not recorded.
When nothing is said
After three seconds of silence it stopped and saved nothing. Speech too quiet to register was treated the same way.

Timed on 11 October 2026 by playing spoken test files into the early version’s own stop logic. No microphone was used, and transcription was not run.

Where it stands.

Voice notes you can use today

MemoFlow, from the same studio, is on the App Store for iPhone. It is a larger app: a voice recorder that transcribes meetings, lectures and ideas on the device, with no account and no uploads. Free to download; Lifetime Access is an optional one-time purchase with no subscription.
