Why the recording survives when the clever part fails
The original audio is the evidence; transcription and summaries are interpretations built on top. MemoFlow saves the recording before speech analysis begins, keeps it when no speech is found or a model is unavailable, and makes the Apple Speech versus Foundation Models boundary visible. A private voice workspace should never sacrifice the source just to make an AI feature look seamless.

Is Apple Intelligence required to transcribe audio?
No. On-device transcription uses Apple Speech. Foundation Models and Apple Intelligence availability apply to summary and transcript-grounded chat, not basic recording, playback, or speech transcription.
Does a meeting bot join the call?
No. MemoFlow records from your iPhone with permission. There is no account, remote participant, team workspace, third-party AI provider, or cloud upload.
What happens if transcription fails?
The saved audio remains in the project. You can still play it and, where the app offers the route, retry processing rather than losing the original recording.
