PreviewCraft
PreviewCraft app iconPreviewCraft — App Store preview capture and export for Mac

From app window to spec-checked preview.

PreviewCraft is a native Mac tool for producing App Store app previews that actually pass validation: record a clean take of your app's window, trim it to the moments that matter, check it against App Preview requirements, and export upload-ready H.264.

Capture the window, not the desktop

Single-window recording

Record just your app's window — no stray notifications, wallpaper, or menu-bar clutter making it into the take.

Native capture

Recording is built on Apple's screen-recording APIs (ScreenCaptureKit) and uses macOS Screen Recording permission, which you grant explicitly and can revoke at any time.

Trim to the good part

Cut the take down to the exact demo moments and preview the result before you export — no cloud editor involved.

Problems caught on your Mac, not in review

Built-in spec checks

Every preview is checked against App Preview specifications — duration, codec, dimensions, and file size — before it leaves the app.

Failures surface early

Resolution, duration, and format problems show up on your Mac before you upload, instead of days later as an App Store Connect rejection.

Upload-ready H.264

Exports use the correct format and settings for App Store Connect, ready to drop into your existing upload workflow.

Pre-release availability

PreviewCraft is in active development for Mac running macOS 15 or later; Screen Recording permission is required to capture a window. The current product plan includes window capture, trimming, raw recording saves, and three spec-validated preview exports at no cost. Lifetime Access is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited spec-validated exports — one payment, no subscription. The app is not yet available to download, and this page intentionally provides no App Store offer.

Maker note

Why validation sits next to the record button

An App Store Connect rejection is the slowest feedback loop in a developer's day: you learn your preview was the wrong resolution or duration only after uploading it. I built PreviewCraft to move those checks onto your Mac, into the same tool that recorded the take, so the file you export is one you already know will pass — and your recordings never have to leave your machine to get there.
