Privacy Policy
Archive keeps your document library on your iPhone. Export and sharing are actions you choose. Some versions include an optional feedback interface, separate from the local document library.
Our Privacy Commitment
Archive: Document Scanner is designed with privacy as its core principle:
- Local Document Library: Archive stores scanned documents on your device rather than in an Archive document cloud. You choose when to export or share a document.
- No Accounts: No login, no registration, no user accounts.
- No Analytics: No usage tracking, no analytics SDKs, no telemetry.
- No Advertising: No ads, no ad networks, no advertising identifiers.
- No Third-Party Document Processing: No external APIs or cloud services process your scanned documents.
Optional Feedback
Some app versions include an optional feedback form and community feedback interface. Attempting to submit that form sends your name, email address, message, selected priority, the app’s project identifier, and feedback like information to the Netlify feedback service. The form can remember your name and email on your device for reuse.
In-app feedback and community feedback are currently unavailable. Use developer@crafterapps.com for support. The feedback service rejects Archive’s requests before storing feedback in Notion or loading community feedback.
The community interface was designed to show display names, messages, status, likes, and replies. Its presence does not establish that a request was delivered or published. Do not include private document content or sensitive information in feedback. Attempted requests still contact the Netlify service; this is separate from local document storage.
Local Data Storage
Archive’s document library and app preferences are stored on your device. Attempted feedback requests are separate from document storage:
- Scanned Documents: Stored locally using SwiftData with external storage for images (JPEG format)
- App Settings: Stored locally using UserDefaults
- Biometric Preferences: Managed by iOS LocalAuthentication framework
This local data is included in your device's standard iCloud backup if you have device backups enabled through iOS Settings.
Biometric Data
Archive uses Face ID or Touch ID to protect individual documents. The app:
- Never accesses or stores your biometric data
- Uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework exclusively
- Only receives a success/failure result from iOS
- Does not store any biometric templates or identifiers
Data Sharing
Document export and sharing use the destination you select in iOS. Attempted feedback requests contact Netlify as described above. The feedback service uses Notion for accepted feedback, but currently rejects Archive’s requests before storage or community feed access. These services are separate from the local document library.
If you email support, the message, your email address, and any attachments you choose to include are handled by the email services involved.
Data Deletion
You can delete documents in Archive or remove the app and its local data. This does not remove copies you exported, device backups, feedback already sent, or email messages.
For questions or requests concerning submitted feedback, contact developer@crafterapps.com.
Children's Privacy
The optional feedback form can include personal information. For questions about a child’s use of Archive or information included in feedback, contact developer@crafterapps.com.
Apple App Store
Archive is distributed through the Apple App Store and may offer optional Lifetime Access in-app purchase. Apple handles downloads, purchases, refunds, and purchase restoration, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.

Summary
Archive’s document library stays local. You control export and sharing. Optional feedback and support messages follow the separate handling described above.
