Read NDEF records
Scan a compatible tag, parse its records, and inspect available capacity, technology, writability, lock state, and non-sensitive raw data.
Scan NDEF records, compose typed tag content, and write compatible tags through a guarded iPhone workflow that checks the physical tag before changing it.
On the App Store since August 2025
Scan a compatible tag, parse its records, and inspect available capacity, technology, writability, lock state, and non-sensitive raw data.
Smart NFC validates the message, connects to one tag, verifies read/write status and capacity, and reads the prior NDEF before it writes.
For 20 seconds after a successful write, undo can rewrite the saved prior NDEF to a tag. It requires another physical scan and is not an automatic rollback.
Create URL, plain-text, email, phone, SMS, and geographic-location records with typed validation before a session begins.
Compose Wi-Fi network, contact card, app-launch, and custom MIME/data records while seeing an estimated payload size.
Smart NFC is not a payment-card reader, access-card tool, Apple Wallet utility, tag cloner, protected-card bypass, or proprietary hardware programmer.
Keep scanned and written tags inside their owning Home and Write surfaces, with favorites, filters, sorting, details, templates, and reuse actions.
Wi-Fi credentials and contact details needed for later writes use device-only Keychain storage. Core Data keeps redacted metadata and UUID references instead of plaintext secrets.
URL is the free record type. Lifetime Access adds unlimited scans and writes plus all ten record types through one family-shareable purchase. No subscription.
Maker note
A tag write changes a physical object, so speed cannot be the only standard. Smart NFC validates the typed record, tag capacity, write state, and prior NDEF before changing anything. Even undo stays honest: it requires the original saved message and another physical scan. The app never labels a remote database action as a rollback.
Daniel · solo developer behind Crafter AppsIt works with compatible, writable NDEF tags that Core NFC can access. Capacity, lock state, and supported technology are checked during the physical session.
No. For a short period after a successful write, Smart NFC can offer the prior NDEF message, but restoring it requires another scan of a compatible writable tag.
