Built for work that changes

A QR code maker for people who still want control tomorrow

SmartQR is for freelancers, creators, consultants, and small operators who need polished QR codes without adopting an enterprise campaign platform. Make a static code locally when the destination is settled. Choose a Smart Link when a printed destination may need to change.

Static QR codes

Create unlimited local codes for websites, Wi-Fi, contacts, events, App Store pages, and social links. Customize colors, patterns, logos, and labels; organize the results on your device; then export for screen or print. No account is required.

Smart Links

Pro adds an online redirect for supported codes, so a destination can change after the QR has been shared. It also provides bounded campaign measurement: total scans and the latest scan time, not a person-by-person activity trail.

Create

Start useful. Make it recognizably yours.

Choose the content type first, then adjust the visual treatment before saving. SmartQR keeps customization attached to the QR itself instead of sending you through a design tool for every change.

  • Preview the code before it leaves the app.
  • Add a logo only when it still scans reliably.
  • Use QR Health checks to catch local readiness issues.

Organize

A library, not a pile of exports

Name, search, tag, and group codes around clients, campaigns, projects, or locations. The free creation workflow and local library stay on your device. SmartQR Pro can add iCloud sync for people who deliberately want the same library across their Apple devices.

That distinction is intentional: online services do not wake up simply because the app was opened.

Clear boundaries

What Pro includes—and what SmartQR does not pretend to be

SmartQR Pro

  • Editable Smart Links and aggregate scan totals.
  • Reports, templates, batch generation, and print layouts.
  • Widgets and optional iCloud library sync.
  • Weekly, monthly, or annual auto-renewing plans through the App Store.

Not an enterprise tracker

  • No per-scan history or individual visitor profiles.
  • No location, device, or time-bucket reporting.
  • No custom domains, CRM connection, or marketing automation.
  • No promise that every QR can be edited after printing; that requires a Smart Link.

Maker note

Why I kept the analytics deliberately small

A scan total can answer the practical question—“is this code being used?”—without turning a straightforward QR tool into a surveillance dashboard. SmartQR separates local creation from online Smart Links so the infrastructure matches the feature you choose, not the maximum amount of data an app could collect.

SmartQR questions

Can I make QR codes without paying?

Yes. Unlimited local static QR creation, customization, organization, scanning, and PNG export are available without an account. Pro is for Smart Links, aggregate analytics, and the additional production tools listed above.

Can I change any QR code after printing it?

Only supported Smart Links can change their destination after sharing. A normal static QR contains its final destination directly and cannot be remotely edited.

Does SmartQR identify who scanned a code?

No. Supported Pro analytics show aggregate totals and the latest scan time. They do not provide an individual scan history or personal visitor profile.

Which Apple devices can run SmartQR?

SmartQR is available for iPhone and iPad, with compatibility on Apple silicon Macs through the designed-for-iPad version. Feature availability can depend on the device and active Pro access.
