Privacy Policy
QuietTrace is designed around visible, on-device sound classification and a private journal. This policy explains the separate data flows used for listening, optional iCloud sync, and optional feedback.
Microphone processing
QuietTrace opens the microphone only after you choose to turn listening on. That standing choice is revocable at any time. Classification happens on device, listening remains visible through system indicators and a Live Activity when backgrounded, and microphone audio is never retained or transmitted. QuietTrace stores only a classified event label and timestamp.
Journal and settings
Your classifications, timestamps, journal, listening choice, and app settings are stored locally on your device. You can clear the journal or turn listening off in the app.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, QuietTrace mirrors classifications and timestamps to your private CloudKit database so they can appear on your devices. Microphone audio is never included. Apple operates iCloud under your Apple ID and its privacy terms.
Optional feedback
If you choose Send in the feedback form, QuietTrace sends the feedback category and message, your required contact email, an optional display name, and the app identifier to the shared Crafter Apps feedback service. This data is used to review your feedback, respond when appropriate, and improve the app.
Approved feedback may be fetched by Crafter Apps products and displayed publicly after moderation. A published item may include its approved category and message plus your optional display name if you supplied one. Your email address always remains private and is never included in public feedback.
Sending feedback is optional and separate from the core listening and journal features. To ask about correction or deletion of submitted feedback, email developer@crafterapps.com.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Your local journal and settings remain on your device until you clear them in QuietTrace or remove the app. Crafter Apps does not receive that local data.
Feedback submitted to the shared service is retained only while needed to review it, respond when appropriate, improve QuietTrace, and maintain an approved public feedback item. The stored submission and any public copy are deleted when they are no longer needed for those purposes or when you request deletion, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
Direct support email is retained until your request is resolved and no longer needed for reasonable follow-up, then deleted unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
Email developer@crafterapps.com to request access, correction, or deletion of submitted feedback or support correspondence, or to withdraw consent for further use of an optional feedback submission. After a valid withdrawal or deletion request, Crafter Apps stops using the submission and removes its stored and public copies, except for information that must be retained to meet a legal obligation.
No tracking, analytics, or ads
QuietTrace contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking technology. Crafter Apps does not sell your information or use feedback data for tracking.
Direct support
If you contact support by email, your email address and message are used to understand and respond to your request.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when QuietTrace or its data practices change. The date above will identify the latest version.
